We are in June and the excuses are starting. Yesterday we reviewed the numbers and realized one obvious thing. It will be very easy to achieve a million euros on Amazon.
We have set ourselves this as a goal this year. We want to break the seven figure bar. Obviously invoice is not everything. You have to make a profit at the end of the day but a million is a special milestone. In the end we would be left with a tax benefit (without restoring structure or equipment costs) of 200k. It is not so much, you will say and I give you all the reason in the world.
2021 has been special for e-commerce
I do not know how to express it. “Because of” or “thanks to”. In the end, Covid has made e-commerce explode last year. The demand has been incredibly high. In 2022 luckily we no longer suffer so much from the issue and it was not scored in sales. They have fallen a lot. This effect cannot be replicated by anything. That is why doing exactly the same thing you are simply going to invoice half of what you have invoiced the previous year. In our case it means that we have to more than double our efforts to replicate and exceed last year’s result.
The loss of our top seller
Already in 2021 it has been noticed but even more so this year. We have lost our super-sales and this was noted in the figures. We haven’t been able to replace it yet. Pokémon is already going for 100k billing but it is much more complicated to achieve the same figures. There is more work behind. With Pokémon we have to create our own lists, which, for example, in the previous case was not necessary.
The quick forecast for this year
Doing quickly above the figures with what we have calculated that we will reach a turnover of 650k. With that, we would be well below our goal and even below our result for the previous year. What could save us a bit could be our own products. The downside is that we’re going to need a bit of a surprise here because we don’t have anything at the moment that has the potential to take us to the seven-figure level.

We are clear that the solution is to have our own brands and products on Amazon. That is why we have already launched the first one and we are in the process of creating three more to finally have four. This for this year still will not have a great impact. In 2023 it should be noticed. For 2022 we have to be vigilant to identify buying opportunities in time. We have capital to invest but the opportunities to do so are lacking. Hopefully it comes out and we can still influence this year’s outcome. Let’s see what happens.
