Manifesto for the future of education
A few Sundays ago, I woke up inspired and sent out a campaign to my prospective students telling them about the lies we’ve been told for too many years about our education. This had a big impact on some, including my friend Jose Lozano, a big influence in the e-learning world, who told me:
“It is the most revolutionary manifesto that has ever been written or in recent years on education. You who have the means, more than me, could order a website to publish this Manifesto and that companies, universities, professionals, etc. They could leave their name written on the web, show how many people support it (more than on Change.org) And before the end of the year, set up an event with the main signatories to make it public visibility, and if it can be in Madrid, before the Congress, better. I support you in this initiative”
Well, dear friend, nothing has been said and done and you have published this manifesto which I hope will transcend IEBS, which does not want to own it, but instead becomes a global movement for the future of education at a key moment for our economy and the digital transition.

Manifesto for a modern and quality education
- We were told that there are smart people and stupid people, however, we all know that some of those who considered themselves stupid have succeeded in life. We now know that we all have multiple gifts and intelligences and that adaptive and personalized learning is the best way to get the best out of each of us.
- We’ve been told that if you pass an exam you already know how to do something, but no matter how much you spend your life watching videos of the best cyclist in the world and passing the toughest certification to ride a bike, be assured that you will fall. Now we know that exams only serve to show that you have memorized somethingthat you will soon forget, and it is useless.

- We were taught to replicate and memorize formulas and methodologies, in the case of business schools to use the case method, but the pandemic made it clear that the recipes we knew were useless and we had to relearn everything TO DO. . For it It is essential to train the new generations in the attitude that multiplies, as opposed to attitudes that only add up.
- They limit us to a closed learning space and the digital world is like the library of Alexandria, it is full of knowledge. Educational establishments also wanted to preserve knowledge and create distances between apprentices and teachers, while today the teacher can become an apprentice and the apprentice teacher and which must be promoted and not rejected or punished.
- They keep telling us that to learn we have to take classes, watch videos, or read books. And instead of face-to-face classes, they gave us online classes. And that’s not true, of course, we need learning resources!, but you really learn when you ride a bike and not by going to cycling lessons. The reason why we forget what we see and do not practice is called the forgetting curve.
- They stigmatized us saying that error is wrong and a mistake is the beginning of real learning. Because we all fell when we learned to ride a bike and got back up and moved on.
- They keep saying that an entrepreneur is born and not made. And they are right because we are all born with the seed of entrepreneurship, because as children we constantly fall and rise again, only that the education system is responsible for suppressing these skills and there are always people who are in charge of telling you what you are good at and what you are not and I reveal myself, because they told me that I could never undertake.
- They lied to us when they dress up silk training to make you pay way more and yet what you want is to learn. Some want to charge €30,000 or €50,000 for something not worth that and another €500 for a 40 hour documentary filmed on video, but stuffed with neuromarketing resources to take advantage of you and make you think you are like them , it’s called a neural mirror and it happens to all of us who have empathy.
This is why we demand accessible and quality education for all. Because we believe in people and we know that we all have a gift, we just have to work on it to find it.
We invite everyone to join, schools, universities, colleges to complete and polish the manifesto and publish it somewhere independent of the IEBS so that it belongs to the whole sector.
If you want to participate in this initiative or contribute your vision or ideas to improve this manifesto, leave your message in the comments and share it on your social networks or by email. The more we are, the more strength we will have and there is an urgent need for society to change education and envision the future once and for all with everyone’s consensus. Thanks !
