There are weeks that are more intense than others. The first week of August has been an example for this. This is my tactic to overcome it.
There are scary weeks before you start. The week back from vacation is a good example for this. Even during the holidays I have had to think about the moment of return and it has intimidated me. The reason for this is simple. It is not a simple view but the beginning of several projects at the same time combined with an accumulation of tasks that have to be carried out in a short time. Today is Friday and I have the feeling that once again I have successfully overcome an intense week. Even these tactics help you when you are in the same situation.
Break big tasks into small tasks
You will see that the things I do are not complicated. Sound of common sense. For a client project, he had to create documentation for 12 different processes. Each of them was going to take me about an hour. My goal therefore has been to divide the task into 2-3 processes per day to arrive on time for the due date which is Tuesday of next week. These things are obvious but many times we find ourselves in a situation of overwhelm because we have the feeling of having to attack the task once and finish it. The hardest thing is to make the beginning. I started with it on Tuesday and we are on Friday. Of the twelve processes I have four left to carry out. Now that I have data for the rest of the days and knowing my agenda I see that I can do at least two today to finish the task on Monday of next week.
Summary: when you have a large task divided into small blocks that you can hang for x time to finish it. Start earlier to have data and know the speed of execution and in case of deviation from the initial plan you can adapt the pace of work.
Plan the days in blocks of 30 minutes
This has already been mentioned on more than one occasion. On very intense days I usually divide my day into blocks of 30 minutes of work. It is to help me plan and guide me through the day. In general, just be faster so the confidence during the day is growing and I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I usually start with calls with clients that I usually have several every day. The remaining blocks are the ones I have to carry out the work.
Summary: Divide your most intense work days into small blocks. Assign each block a task that you want to carry out. Do not be too optimistic in the execution but already a little margin to pause between each block. Make you always go ahead of the plan this will give you the necessary energy to endure until the end.
This point is special because it didn’t work for everyone but it works great for me. It was a practically spontaneous decision that led me to start intermittent fasting. At first it was “only” to skip breakfast but a few days after starting it he thought that maybe I could skip lunch too. Apart from the health benefits of this practice, I gain valuable time these days. Although I have never stopped for a long time to eat, in the end it is 45-60 minutes that I gain in total to work. Fasting allowed me to be more focused and with more energy, so apart from small breaks to have a glass of water, the day hardly stopped.
Summary: Not eating until dinner frees up bandwidth because I don’t have to think about what I’m going to have for breakfast or lunch. I gain additional time because the time I eat is now spent working. Stay longer in concentrated form.
Abandoning the idea that doing everything perfectly
I am a person who is willing to take risks. This in my case also entails accepting the fact that not everything is going to go perfectly. There will be things that are going to break and that they had to fix anyway. I’m not worried about that but I focus on what I can do with the time I have at my disposal. I put 100% focus on things I can control. If I try my best but still can’t accomplish a task, how I would have liked to change plans or accept plan B.
Summary: I eliminate negative thoughts in the form of “and so dirty bad”. I accept from the beginning that there are going to be things that will go wrong but I remain calm because my experience has shown me that I will find ways to solve it. Nothing and no one is perfect and it is not productive to try.
To finish off the extra ball. A long road leads you step by step. I do not focus on getting to the end but on the next step. As long as you don’t stay stopped you will arrive safely. Don’t worry so much about going faster but about keeping moving.

Gone is the traditional work culture where working harder and longer hours was synonymous with good work or efficiency. For this reason, it is important to review LinkedIn employment trends.
That vision is far from today, and that the corporate culture is increasingly strengthening a perspective in which the mental, physical and spiritual health of the members of a company prevails over everything else.
At present, and especially after the passage of the Covid-19 pandemic and with the new generations, the phenomenon is becoming stronger “The Great Reorganization”, according to LinkedIn Job Trends. Here we tell you.
What does LinkedIn say?
LinkedIn has been proposing numerous changes since the beginning of the year, such as LinkedIn Lives. But this is not all, it has also provided data that emerged from a study, where 24 reference personalities from the world of work were chatted with, in addition to the results obtained from said platform.
Flexibility, empathy, mental health, trust, satisfaction and priorities are some of the points that professionals take into account when choosing a company. See the numbers.
What is the most important thing when choosing a job?
It is not new to say that the transformations brought about by the current situation in which we live have also modified the way in which we work; however, what is new is how the subjectivity of the professional has changed, who, when deciding on a job, no longer prioritizes economics.
So what are you looking for? According to what was expressed by the survey, “Reconciliation options” are prioritized first with a percentage of 63%, followed by “Remuneration and benefits” with 60% and last but not least, “Colleagues and culture” with 40%.
This is where the concept of corporate culture becomes relevant, since it encompasses essential aspects such as Flexibility, Well-being and Mental Health, and the phenomenon The Great Reshuffle. Let’s see what this is about.
Flexibility: The most sought after
in the studio of LinkedIn job trendslabor flexibility is gaining ground, and employees are no longer satisfied with strict and traditional models, demanding to have the decision of how, where and when to perform work tasks.
And it is that the hours worked are no longer an index of efficiency, but the results. A clear example of this is the flexible appealan innovative program proposed by Austin Fraser, based on compensation and recognition of the results obtained.
This not only represents a great challenge for workers, but also for companies that are forced to find the exact point of balance between good results and flexibility.
The figures: What is the percentage around flexibility?
Thanks to the LinkedIn study on labor trends, we can have an overview of what happens when employees have greater flexibility, tolerance and possibilities of conciliation with regard to work.
According to the results obtained, workers are 2.6 times more likely to feel fulfilled and 2.1 times more likely to recommend the company to someone else as a good place to work.
but What about companies and job ads? This new demand for current employment is reflected in company advertisements, since there are 83% more advertisements since 2019 where labor flexibility takes center stage, and 35% more interactions when they are of this type.
As for the writing of company publications, as of 2019, mentions of labor flexibility have increased by 343%.
Generations and labor transformations
Broadly speaking, the existence of at least four generations has been determined: Baby Boom, generation X, Millennials, and the generation Z.
According to the study carried out, the latter is the one that has shown the most interest in job advertisements where flexibility takes center stage. In second place are the Millennials, followed by Generation X, and finally the Baby Boom generation.
Well-being: Life beyond work
One of the transformations we are talking about has to do with the fact that employees have become aware that life does not begin and end at work, and that health, in all its aspects, is paramount when talking about well-being and quality of life.
What do we mean when we say Wellness?
Directly related to the awareness of the importance of mental, physical and spiritual health, and how this can be balanced with work and professional life. This is no coincidence, it is a perspective that has been growing stronger throughout the world.
However, with the outbreak of the pandemic, this has taken on special relevance, since it came to teach us that life goes beyond work, and that well-being cannot wait. This is why the new ways of working are presented as a challenge, where the aim is to continue taking into account the objectives and effectiveness, but without neglecting the human aspect.
As Deloitte’s director of well-being, Jen Fisher, well: “We should not value or praise that people stay working until the wee hours of the morning, because that is not a benefit for them or for the company.”
What if well-being is present in companies?
The study yields figures that make clear the positive results that are the product of a clear and concise strategy of labor welfare. It is so valued by workers that they are even 3.2 times more likely to feel accomplished, and 3.7 times more likely to recommend working at the same company as them.
But who chooses, above all, well-being? According to the results obtained, the women their who are 41% more likely to dialogue and interact with content from companies where well-being takes center stage.
And overall, you’ve seen 5% more engagement with these types of posts.
The Great Reshuffle: A phenomenon that is here to stay
This is a key concept being promoted by LinkedIn in light of the apparent changes they are taking in the way we think about healthy work-life balance. The values of the company, empathetic treatment, and respect for the motivation and achievement of people are increasingly important.
This model left behind the lockers and the traditional job ones became obsolete, this is reflected in the data provided by LinkedIn, where it is reported that “candidates are more selective and in 2021 they see twice as many job advertisements before submitting your application compared to 2019”.
Additionally, there is 67% more interest and engagement from new job seekers if sober job search posts mention company culture.
Work flexibility, well-being and company culture its the most searched terms, so job advertisements take them into account when opening searches. Thus, the use of the term ‘work flexibility’ has increased by 362% in these since 2019, while ‘well-being’ grew by 35%, and finally there is ‘business culture’ with a growth of 15%.
This is just one example that everything is changing and in constant transformation, and that what we knew until now is no longer enough, it is time to start rethinking what we want and how it will be achieved.
Companies urgently need to consolidate a business culture that is at the forefront, for this it is to stop being aware of what is being talked about, how, and appropriate are the trends, in addition to working on business leadership.
Findings Our Dropped LinkedIn Job Trends
This note and the results obtained through testimonies and studies give us room to reflect on various issues, which are extremely urgent to rethink. The reality that surrounds us must serve as an axis to guide us, on what is happening, what are the current demands and what challenges lie ahead, to achieve us.
The first conclusion is that the laymen maintain that in good time the correct and necessary importance is given to the person as such, their emotions and feelings, motivations, needs, priorities and desires. And of course also the Hello in its entirety Which constitutes a great achievement, if we compare it with the models that are already becoming obsolete, where what was already mentioned was left in the last point.
This forces companies to adapt, there is no other option if they want to guarantee competitiveness and distinction with respect to the existing competition in the market. Workers are no longer just that, but they are a vital part of the company, also being necessary for its success, productivity and efficiency.
It is necessary for the employees to feel part of it, for their demands to be heard, and for this to lead to the reconciliationsuch an important concept in this new work era, achieving the long-sought feeling of belonging.
If it registers that it has great benefits and virtues for all the parties involved in the process, especially for those who have the task of being employers, who will have the responsibility, commitment, performance and fidelity of the hired professionals.
However, this is not easy, it represents a great challenge and involves a incredible reinvention opportunity. This is commented on in the study carried out by the most recognized platform dedicated to the world of work, where it is argued that “organizations that can reinvent their work model will have a great advantage.”
As he rightly points out in the LinkedIn study, according to Amplify’s Lars Schmidt: “This change is different because it has nothing to do with tools or technology, but rather with the mindset, the wishes and expectations of the employees and, also, of the companies. Reflected in different aspects and it is happening very quickly”.
What did we learn from this?
- Physical, mental and spiritual health is essential if we think of a fulfilled, satisfied and effective professional
- Technology is our ally if we know how to use it and take advantage of it correctly
- Company culture is crucial if we seek to achieve efficiency and productivity as a company
- The professional is much more than a simple employee, therefore, special attention must be paid to humane and empathetic treatment
- A harmonious balance between work and life in general is possible if it is understood that the key is to listen to labor demands and trends

The Met Office has issued its first red warning for extreme heat in anticipation of the UK heatwave peaking on Monday and Tuesday.
The national weather service has recommended making “substantial changes to working practices and daily routines”, with temperatures in London and southern England expected to reach 40C. This would top the UK’s highest ever recorded temperature of 38.7C, in Cambridge in July 2019.
With the rise of mercury, many people wonder if there is a maximum temperature in which people can be expected to work. But currently there are no such laws.
James Willis, head of employment law at Stevensdrake Solicitors, says: “Over the years, a number of myths have arisen around the notion that there are strict maximum and minimum temperatures beyond which employees cannot be required to work. work. However, no such restriction has ever been introduced.”
An early motion to set a maximum workplace temperature of 30°C, or 27°C for those doing strenuous work, was recently tabled in Parliament and has so far been signed by more than 40 MPs. But currently, the law is much harder to pin down, with employers only requiring them to provide a “reasonable” temperature in the workplace.
“What is ‘reasonable’ will depend on the circumstances of each case,” adds Willis.
Law on work in hot conditions.
Although there is no guideline for an upper temperature limit in the workplace, employers should be aware of any health and safety laws.
This requires organizations to keep the temperature at a comfortable level and provide clean, fresh air.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that employers should “consult with employees or their representatives to establish means of coping with high temperatures”.
If the temperature becomes uncomfortably high, employers must take all reasonable steps to achieve a more bearable temperature, according to HSE. This could include providing desk fans, shielding windows, or moving workstations out of direct sunlight.
Organizations that do not take sufficient steps to make working temperatures more comfortable could find themselves failing in their health and safety responsibilities.
Under the latest red alert, the Met Office warns that “adverse health effects could be experienced throughout the population”, not limited to those most vulnerable to extreme heat. This means that employers will also need to be aware of Section 44 of the Employment Rights Act.
Joseph Lappin, employment director and partner at law firm Stewarts, explains that the law “gives employees the right to stay home if they reasonably believe that going to work puts them at risk of serious and imminent danger.”
It adds: “An employer who refuses to pay an employee who refuses to report to work, citing dangerous temperatures, may well find themselves on the receiving end of a labor claim.”
How can employers make hot working conditions more comfortable?
With heat waves becoming more common in the UK, employers will need to consider what steps they can take to provide a safe working environment during periods of hot weather.
For those in offices without air conditioning facilities, now may be the time to invest.
In addition to its air-conditioned headquarters, human resources software company CharlieHR will advise staff to avoid commuting during busy periods and hand out ice cream and popsicles to those who walk into work.
People and talent manager Finola Rance says the company will also expand the scope of its wellness and learning budgets, allowing staff to use them to subsidize travel to and from the office on Mondays and Tuesdays, reserve joint work to avoid trips. and enjoy air conditioning or buy a fan to keep cool while working from home.
Companies will also need to demonstrate more flexibility than usual, according to Limelight HR founder Sally Bendtson. This could involve changing people’s work hours so they can travel at cooler and less busy times, relaxing formal dress codes, or allowing people to work from home, if that’s more comfortable for them.
She adds: “If the organization doesn’t have air conditioning in the office and doesn’t have access to ways to cool people down, they may have to tell people not to come in or, if the day is particularly bad, they may the employer should be open to sending people home.”
For those who don’t work in an office environment, there will be additional challenges. “It’s really hard, especially if people are working outside in the sun,” says Bendtson. “Employers need to make sure staff are covered as much as possible and make sure they add extra breaks.”
Special attention should be paid to the most vulnerable people, either because of their age or due to a health condition, and those who are pregnant. Bendtson says that in such circumstances, a risk assessment can be helpful.

The skills young people need to find work
Every July 15, the World Youth Skills Day. The objective is to disseminate the importance of the promotion of young people through the acquisition of skills and competences allowing them to enter the labor market. Do you want to know what are the most important skills for finding a job? Take note!
1. Emotional intelligence

Knowing how to manage our emotions is particularly important in situations where we are under pressure. For example, when we have to meet tight deadlines. Resolving conflict and motivating our team creates a culture of collaboration and builds psychological safety within departments.
The professions that will be most successful
of them. digital literacy
Almost all professional careers involve the use of some type of technology. This means that the better prepared a professional is, the more attractive he will be to the recruiter.
As digital literacy, we understand the familiarization of young people with different technologies so that they are able to learn to use any program or device. This knowledge must be constantly updated to keep up with emerging digital tools.
3. Persuasive skills
It is the ability to attractively describe the benefits of an idea, product or service, generating consensus. I mean, be convincing. The goal is to get others to see things the way you see them. This ability is very important in the business world. It doesn’t matter whether you are an entrepreneur looking for investors or a professional offering your services in a job interview.
Adaptability is the ability to change our way of thinking and acting to adapt to a new situation. For example, adaptability can be used to change how you communicate with customers instead of how you communicate with a team member. Also when an organization undergoes a policy change and workers need to adhere to the new rules or procedures. Companies appreciate this skill because it shows that someone is willing to always improve.
Today’s labor market is constantly changing and no one knows for sure how different sectors will evolve in the decades to come. Young people must therefore be able adapt easily to changes.
Companies are becoming less static and conventional and need workers who are flexible and able to change their minds as new problems and situations arise.
5. Problem resolution
Problem solving is one of the most important skills that young people who want to progress in the job market must demonstrate. It is common for recruiters to pose hypothetical problems to interviewees. The goal is to see how they are doing or to ask how an issue has been handled in the past.
In this direction, experience is essential to be able to operate comfortably in the different situations that may arise. But with practice, it can also begin to be acquired. Non-routine jobs today require professionals who must be able to adapt to all kinds of problems that may arise.
These business-minded professionals have the knowledge and ability to creating and developing a job opportunity or idea. This does not necessarily mean having to start a business.
It can also be the start of self-employment or development as an entrepreneur in the same working environment. It is about the ability of young people to be innovative, creative and to take initiative when carrying out new projects.
seven. growth mindset
Also known as growth mindset. It’s a people’s perception of themselves and their professional challenges. Having a continuous growth mindset allows people to be motivated by challenges. Moreover, it helps to see failures as opportunities for learning and development and not as a sign of ignorance or inability.
Professionals with this mindset believe that every skill can be developed through practice and effort, creating a passion for knowledge.
8. specific talents
Finally, regarding the skills you need to find a job, the more specialized a professional profile is, the more possibilities you will have of finding a job in the sector of your choice. Having the knowledge and technical skills specific to a position is critical to success. Additionally, as new job opportunities are created through technology, jobs increasingly require knowledge of industry tools and applications and targeted training. A good level of specialization makes it possible to quickly integrate a profile into the company’s workflows.
9# Positive attitude
Having a positive attitude means being optimistic and cheerful at work. People with a positive attitude are more willing to work, show self-motivation and can easily interact with others. This quality can help improve the morale of an entire team or company and also shape the culture and values of the company.
Businesses need employees they can rely on. Thus, by developing trust, employees show their superiors that they are responsible and trustworthy team members.
Eleven# Team work
The ability to work in a team is one of the most important for organizations, as it helps employees perform their tasks more effectively as a team and creates a much more pleasant working environment.
12# critical thinking
Critical thinking is the ability to analyze facts to make a decision. This skill is very useful for making important decisions and solving complex problems, which is why organizations seek candidates with this skill to promote growth and improve processes throughout the company.
With the ability to think outside the box and be creative, employees are more likely to come up with unique and innovative solutions to obstacles they encounter. This eagerness to solve problems can lead to new ways of getting things done and go a long way toward more efficient business administration.
14 # Conflict Resolution
Those with conflict resolution skills are innovative thinkers who specialize in finding solutions to obstacles as they arise. This ranges from identifying problems, finding possible solutions, using logic for trial and error, and establishing ways to prevent it from happening again.
15# Work Ethics
Employers are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic. These people show up on time, complete tasks on time, and stay focused and organized. They are able to budget their time and carry out their work by fulfilling the proposed objectives by following good practices and ethical principles such as responsibility, respect, perseverance and honesty.
Last but not least, there is initiative. When someone shows initiative, they get things done without being told, they find out what they need to know, they follow through when the going gets tough, and they spot and seize opportunities that others missing. They act rather than react.
“Beyond the need to constantly learn, having the ability to adapt to all kinds of situations is more necessary than ever. Organizations need agile and flexible workers able to cope with continuous market changes and a professional and economic future full of uncertainties”Explain Óscar Fuente, director and founder of IEBS Business School. “The crisis is particularly hard on young people and, for this reason, it is more essential than ever to train in the soft and technical skills most in demand”.

I’m back from vacation and even though there are still two weeks left in Austria, we have to pull ourselves together for the next two weeks. I’m going to have to be more focused than usual.
Start a difficult week. Returns from holidays always are, but this is all the more the case since I started a new project. Today I have to move from my house, which is already a logistical challenge given the number of appointments that I have to organize around.
I have principles that I apply consciously or unconsciously. Here I summarize them.
Apply Pareto (or less)
With 80% we are doing well. I just greenlighted the Amazon book mockup. It looks like it’s coming out in September. I’ve gone through it so hopefully what I’ve seen is repeated in the rest I haven’t seen. I don’t have time to be 100% sure. It’s also not an essential part since the content is the most relevant and I have 100% control of it. In most cases with 80% we are fine. In this case, I even failed.
trust third parties
If I can’t hit 80% in first person, I have to rely on third parties. I have more and more people on my team taking on tasks for me. This is the easiest way to be able to cover more once you have a critical mass that allows you to pay freelancers and/or workers to do more work each day.
Luckily, our return trip was quicker than the outward trip. This allowed me to take advantage of the return day by planning today. I have already advanced a few emails and messages. I have revised and edited a presentation that I will have today. Everything is not ready yet, but a large part is already done. I also planned today to reduce stress as much as possible. Improvising is never the solution because we find ourselves very overwhelmed. Planning avoids it 95%.
Just as you can train your body, you can train your mind. The one who never puts himself in a stressful situation crumbles when the next problem looms. Those who experience complicated situations day after day get used to them and increase their mental resistance. What may seem complicated to others will appear to someone who is trained as one more thing to solve. I force myself to face uncomfortable situations continuously to work on mental resilience. At the same time, I train my body and take care of my diet because the two problems go hand in hand.
The day starts strong. The post of the day is written. It’s time to do the Freeletics exercises. I have a little back pain so we’ll see how it goes. The rest of the day is approaching and I’m definitely a little anxious because I don’t really know what to expect. This afternoon I will surely have the clearest thing at least I hope…
