[Podcast] Spirituality for atheists: the power of prayer
I’ve been wanting to talk to you about this for years, but always fearing your response and reaction.
I have believed that if I brought this up, you would stop reading my mail or interpret any email or video as a dogmatic attempt to impose something very personal.
Nothing is further from reality. What happens to me is that I enthusiastically share the information and the tools that help me so much. And the “tool” that I want to tell you about today is one of the most powerful (also in business scenarios).
Perhaps I should first put you in context and start by telling you that I am not a religious person, that my education in a Jesuit school achieved just the opposite of what I suppose they intended and that they rejected any system and hierarchized any religion.
However, I am very spiritual and I always look for the connection with that which transcends me in order, I suppose, to feel anchored and find meaning. Enter what they call lay spirituality.
Now that you know from what perspective I am sending you this message, I will tell you what this tool is. I only ask that before you reject it or raise your eyebrow and send me to hell, read me one more minute.
I’m going there. The practice that helps me so much is prayer. But of course, how or what to pray if you don’t believe in God? How to pray if the anthropomorphic monotheistic framework that prevails so much does not fit with you? And what does prayer have to do with business or strategy? What is praying for?
In this week’s episode of my podcast I answer these and more questions.
From what spiritual framework to choose to believe in something to pray to without conflicting with science or the rational mind, to what benefits praying brings and what practices they consider to be forms of prayer (it may surprise you).
Prayer helps me in moments of confusion and lack of clarity, when I don’t know where to turn or what decision to make. Stay consistent and persevere. To feel supported, serene and rooted. To keep hope and motivation. One less lonely feeling. I pray to life when I lose confidence in my ability, when the situation overwhelms me, when overwhelm invades me, when I doubt and question everything. When a launch goes wrong or when my business goes in a direction that is hopeless. And believe me, professionally, I have not lacked reasons to pray to life.
If you are frank, I give the post button scared shit but hoping that this message arrives just at the time you need it.
Hit play and tell me in the comments what you think, because this is one of the most genuine and intimate pieces of content I’ve created.

[Podcast] How to have hope – Laura Ribas
They say that the last thing that is lost is hope, but in reality that is not the order.
First you lose hope and then it’s all over.
And it is that hope is what connects you with possibility and illusion. It is not a guarantee of success but it is what moves you. Are you carrot?
Without hope and illusion there is no movement, there is no action, you do not fight for what you want. Without hope he falls into apathy and lack of meaning.
Because if you don’t believe in the possibility of changing or achieving something, why bother? Nope?
The lack of hope is dangerous because it makes us fall into cynicism and leads us to that bitter and condescending attitude with which we look with sorrow and superiority at those who are hopeful and optimistic.
Cynicism is, well, an arid territory in which you do not want to live… I can assure you, I have been there.
But of course, how to have hope when what surrounds you are constant setbacks or adversities? How to wait for another possibility when you don’t have victories that encourage you or give you signs that you’re on the right track? How to have an optimistic attitude when the messages you receive from the world are catastrophic?
Having hope when things are going well for us has no merit. Wait until you go through a rough patch and you will see how life shakes all the threads of hope that you can hold on to.
And you want to have hope because it’s what helps you have the right attitude that will allow you to create the life you want. Any change in your life depends on your sense of possibility, on that gap through which rays of illusion slip through.
The good news is that hope is actually a decision. It works and strengthens with intention.
So in this week’s podcast I share 7 tips or practices that help me to have hope and keep walking in the direction of my dreams and goals, to maintain my motivation despite the downturns and, ultimately, to have a life more satisfying.

[Podcast] Why do you betray yourself?
Have you ever thought that the reason why you may not have gotten to where you want to be or you are not completely happy is because you only betray yourself?
That already explains it to me.
You betray when, for example:
- You boycott and abandon your dreams and desires for someone (children, partner, family and others included in that someone).
- You ignore or minimize your emotions, desires and preferences for those of others.
- You revolve around someone, becoming their satellite, and making their desires and problems yours.
- Overfunctioning in the face of someone’s underfunction.
- It does not set limits or axes.
- You escape with work, networks, leisure, drugs, toxic relationships, whatever it takes to deny yourself or face the truth.
- Do not create the time for yourself and/or for your desires.
- Not taking care of yourself, literally (food, sleep, rest, avoiding certain situations, etc).
- Not creating the space to be alone with yourself and identify what it is that you want.
- Setting unattainable goals.
- Not accepting the good that life gives you.
- Thinking about how they can choose you instead of thinking if you really choose that situation, opportunity or person.
Do you see what I mean?
For this reason, in this episode of this podcast I tell you the reasons for this self-abandonment and I give you a simple guideline to reverse this trend and, thus, achieve the life you really want.

#49 Choose the podcast to express yourself
Podcasts are growing like hot cakes, the growth is x4 in 3 years. However, is it a medium for you? What does this imply? What are the benefits for your business?
Receive new episodes directly in your inbox by subscribing to our newsletter.
4 times more podcasts in 3 years
In Europe, more than 36% of Internet users say they listen to podcasts in 2022, this figure has increased by around 15% in 1 year (source: Idboox). This figure is 50% across the Atlantic.
60% of users spend more time listening to podcasts than on networks! In 3 years, the number of podcast shows has quadrupled.
And our European and Francophone regions are no exception. The forerunners of podcasting in France have also published books (I’m thinking of Gregory Pouy’s Vlan or Metamorphose). Matthieu Stefani recently shared on LinkedIn the fact that after 4 years, one long episode per week, he lives on it!
Several times a week I see agencies on Linkedin promoting this medium. They encourage companies and leaders to speak up. To do this, they train, train or even offer the studio. And it’s like any other decision: be aware of all the ins and outs and choose wisely.
So, I brought together in this episode 3 podcasters with varied experiences and different positions. They share their experience and recommendations with you in choosing this fabulous medium. We answer these 3 questions in particular:
- Is the podcast for you?
- What does this medium bring to your business?
- What are the time, energy and financial investments?
We also talk about distribution, material, organization and motivation. I loved it when Mélina talks about the pleasure of hosting a podcast and Mariama reinforces her saying:
Pleasure is 80% of the work.
Mariama Ba
For my part, I chose this medium for its orality, the closeness and intimacy it offers me with the listener. And how they share it with you in this episode, I have great pleasure and more than pays for the investment of time / finances.
Is the podcast for you?
Yes, as long as you have a message to convey, you can be regular and have fun! And of course you can be regular and have a message to carry. And as Melina says, in the episode; everyone has something to say, to the accompaniment of your podcast to help you express it in the best way.
What can this medium contribute to your business?
It is a means of expression like other social networks. A place to convey your message. For some entrepreneurs, it allows them to make themselves known and offer a certain proximity, to affirm their personal brand. Eventually, as with any medium, it will bring you customers at the right time. It doesn’t matter if you offer interviews or are your own voice.
And as I said in the introduction, some have had great visibility opportunities following their podcast. You choose what you want for yours.
The podcast is also an opportunity to create a real bond with the interviewee (if this is the format you have chosen). You leave a memorable mark. They say it all 3; something profound is happening during this moment.
For my part, I use the podcast for 3 reasons:
- The opportunity to live a strong moment with a person to whom I do not have access in another setting.
- Create a unique bond with this person and leave a memorable memory 😉
- It transmits a message, mine, yours as close as possible to you, in your ears.
Over time, people who come to me for support in Personal Branding and Sense in their business in relation to their economic reality, tell me that they have discovered and appreciated me in the podcast.
What are the time, energy and financial investments?
It all depends on whether you rent a studio, work with a sound engineer or do it yourself. Listen to the experiences of Mariama, Melina and Elisabeth. The time they invest in it, the energy and the heart they put into it is immense. Regardless of the means available; Melina has a studio and a team.
Some information about my podcast guests in this episode:
Mariama Ba from Rock your Podcast
What energy in this woman! She audited and trained us last year. These recommendations were super relevant and we have been implementing them step by step since the fall of 2021. So obviously she had to be in this episode.
Elisabeth Smeysters from State of Flow
I like Elisabeth’s trip. One of those trips that may seem crazy at first and then suddenly take on all of her meaning as she brings together everything she loves to do. I like the way she delivers the episodes of hers, the soft voice of hers and the highlighting of the episodes of hers.
Melina Neuhaus of the programs offered by Socialize Magazine.
With Melina we have known each other for a long time and we love each other very much; we have similar visions on many points that affect our lives as women entrepreneurs. At her agency, she benefits from a recording studio, I also had the opportunity to experience her twice: during an interview for her Toi à Moi podcast and for the Vivre son Coeur Business podcast about the award (in which she is also interviewed to Melina).
