Nomad’s cross-chain protocol suffered a hack valued at nearly $150 million.
One week after receiving $22 million in funding, Nomadic was the victim of an exploityesterday afternoon. The team announced that an investigation has already been opened while notifying users about it. Also, Nomadic He reportedly demanded the hackers return the funds without taking any action and a reward in return.
focus on piracy
The news was announced in a tweet from Nomadic. In addition, the company also asked users to beware of identity thieves.
The post says the following: “We are aware of the incident related to the token bridge Nomadic. We are currently investigating and will provide updates as soon as we have them. We are aware of the existence of imposters who pose as Nomadic and providing fraudulent addresses to raise funds. We have not yet provided instructions for returning the funds from the deck. Ignore communications from all channels other than the official channel of Nomadic. »
It all started with a suspicious transaction that removed 100 wrapped bitcoins (WBTC) a value of $2.3 million from the bridge. However, the event saw parts of the bridge removed. These include
- Wrapped Ether (WET),
- covalent Query Symbolic (CQT),
- USD Currency (USDC),
- Frax (FRAX),
- IAGON (IAG),
- hummingbird Governance Symbolic (HBOT),
- card Start (CARDS),
- GeroWallet (GERO),
- dai (DAY) and many others.
Interestingly, this exploit is enough different other bridging feats taking place in 2022. During the hack, hundreds of addresses received tokens directly from the bridge. Furthermore, the exploiter removed all of these tokens in an unusual pattern. They remove tokens of equivalent denomination from the draw pile. The attacker has executed more than 200 transactions, each of them amounts to exactly $202,440.725413.
Bonus: Huobi receives regulatory approval to operate in Australia.
Nomadic asks the attackers to return the funds with a major
In a recent development, Nomadic Clarified thatno action will be taken against hackers if you return the funds. In addition, the company promises that attackers you will also receive a 20% bonus. Nomadic ask everyone to send all tokens to ENS nomadic farm.ethics with the address 0x673477e1438a0e09Ba16e2C56F8A701C3317942c.
“We appreciate your efforts, we will make this action a white hat and take no further action against you asking you to transfer all tokens from your address to our ENS mentioned below and get a 20% bonus.”
Bridge exploits have been a very common form of exploit in recent years. As a result, millions of dollars in investor funds were lost. In the past, the co-founder ofEthereal, Vitalik Buterinraised concerns about the use of bridges to move funds between chains.

My most used productivity hack this year
There’s a productivity tip I heard years ago. I don’t remember who or in what context. This year, I’m really enjoying it.
When it comes to being productive, that’s not something I really consider. Productivity stems from the need to do many things in a short time. This year it looks like he’s mastered a little “hack” that I also didn’t consciously start.
While reviewing today’s post, an idea popped up due to the need to make an entry in less time than usual. I still want to spend time on the book before playing sports. Then we went on an excursion to Avignon. With this line, I have already given you a hint that today is not a normal day. We are on vacation and it is an optimal time to finally highlight the Amazon book which is more or less in the final stretch.
The hack is this. For a task for which you have 3 days or 3 hours of time, the result is often the same in the end. I push this to the extreme where sometimes in an hour I generate the result of 3 days of work.
The explanation behind this “phenomenon” is quite obvious and a matter of common sense. When you go with the times, you also take your time. It is possible that during these three days, you get up from your chair 30 times to make coffee, clean the house, fix a bookshelf, surf social networks, etc. When instead you have an hour to complete the task and then have to present the results in a meeting, there is pressure to finish. If you know how to handle the stress involved, you will have generated something that is not 100% but maybe 70%, which depending on how you present it can become 85-90% after the have delivered.
In the end it is not the quantity of the result but the quality. In a time frame like the one mentioned, I found a way to save a client between 150 and 200 thousand per year. Can walk. At least it works for me.
Stay tuned.
