So I reiterate Digital 2022 Q3 Updatea global study conducted by We Are Social in conjunction with Hootsuite that our sample has detailed the state of the internet in mexicowhich allows us to know valuable information of great interest, sober trends or perspectives of internet users, mobile connections, social networks and post-coronavirus e-commerce.
The number of Internet users is growing worldwide
The study ensures that the number of internet users grew to a total of 178 million, that is, 3.7% more than last year. This increase stands out since in total will add 5,030 million users to the red network worldwidewhich means that Internet penetration is 63.1% of the world population.
In this sense, 90.7% of Internet users worldwide connect to the web with a smartphone, 60.3% use their laptop or computer and 28.2% use tablets. They report more than 4,700 million users on social networks
The Hootsuite and We Are Social report points out that there are 4.7 billion users on social networks, 227 million more than in 2021and the average time spent by the world population on social networks is 2 hours and 29 minutes, but Mexican users spend up to 3 hours and 25 minutes on social networks. Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp are our most used social platforms globallyFurthermore, 39% of the population uses Instagram; and 29% TikTok and 27% Facebook.
Likewise, 63.1% of the world’s population has access to the internet only in total there are more than 178 million userswho spend an average of 6 hours and 49 minutes daily on the Internet with 92.1% of users accessing from a mobile phone.

The number of Internet Mexicans who buy via online continues to increase
